Sikh Health Improvement Group (SHIG) was established in October 2002. The organisation is funded by Sandwell Primary Care Trust through Community Health Network (CHN). SHIG is here to offer free and confidential help and support for Sikh and Punjabi Community via seven Sikh Gurdwaras in Sandwell.

To provide a fully functional Community Health Improvement Group particularly for the Sikh-Punjabi community in Sandwell, that provides a one-stop solution specifically for the youth & elderly to access facilities and services based around raising health awareness, increasing employment opportunities, provide health related information, increasing leisure and recreation time and reducing social isolation, crime and drug misuse.
